STC Southern complete barn conversion in Somerset.

STC Southern was recently contracted to complete a project for a regular customer in Taunton, Somerset. 

The customer required a full barn conversion to transform the old building into a second home in a beautiful rural location. The land had previously been a functioning farm yard and was set in a beautiful rural location surrounded by rolling green fields and woodland.

The company took the lead in managing the project which involved demolition and land clearing, constructing a new access point, and building a permanent three bar fence to keep out any roaming livestock. They completed groundwork for the new barn including footings, oversite, and drainage, structural stone work modifications and steel as well as installing and commissioning a sewage treatment plant.

The work also included connecting a new water and electricity supply that included a 200m duct running across neighbours land.

Steve Taylor, Project Manager said: “We were really pleased with the end result and it was a pleasure to be involved in this unique project.”

They completed the project by finalising the landscaping of the property, giving it an aesthetically pleasing look that fitted its rustic setting.
